hi im new to ofusion and 3dsmax and im trying to follow the first tutorial here:

http://ofusion.inocentric.com/tutorial1.html

but when i get to this step:

8. Locate the "Vertex Shader(Program)" rollup section of the pass material, and select "Ogre/BasicVertexPrograms/AmbientOneTexture" from the list of available vertex shader programs.

the drop box is empty and the box that is supposed to say edit says "shader system not active".

any ideas on what this is?

Yup
you have to activate the Ogre Viewport first, than it'll be active.

ok now i get to this step:

27. In this TextureUnit, select the nm.dds image file for the bitmap section
(You can download the normalization cube image here)

i cant find the nm.dds file and the dl gives me a 404 error.

I just tested the link and it works

Try with another browser or download manager

You can create it from the "nm" image files of the Ogre sdk if you want, or request it to be sent to your email

Had the same problem and it has something to do with the "\" character or something...

edit:
For me in latest firefox, the link currently shows as "http://ofusion.inocentric.com/resources%5Cnm.dds"...
