This is a very lame question

Post by RealmSeeker »

Looking at the engine and the site I couldn't help myself to ask.

What is OGRE? <- told you, lame.

Well I know it's a graphics engine but who does it make and why, as it is free. Are you a business or just hobbyists/enthousiastics?

The Ogre team develops it: http://www.ogre3d.org/about/team

Torus Knot Software (by Ogre founder Steve Streeting) offers consultant services: http://www.torusknot.com/

So basically, enthousiastics but from time also a bit of business = companies that use Ogre porivde back patches they created while e.g. creating a game to help adapt the engine for their needs or add new features.

It always good to know who is who, now I know who to thank.

So by this I'd like to thank you all including the moderators, especially Steve Streeing along with the best wishes.

As I am a enthousiastic intermediate tutorialist at this point it would take time to see where I end up.

Have fun
