Auto-sizing text widgets to content

Is there any way to make a StaticText widget auto-size to whatever the size of its text happens to be when it is set? If not I was thinking of making a custom widget that would do it since that saves a ton of time trying to do it manually everywhere, which is getting really time consuming to write and redo over and over again. I need a version of Edit that does the same thing as well.
