Can't get demos working

Alright I know this is a fairly common problem but I just can't get them working even after re-installing. I'm using version 1.6.4 with Python 2.6.3. I run a demo, (in this case Demo_Basic) and it runs but then says "python.exe has encountered an error". This is what the ogre.log file has to say:

Seems pretty normal, except for the BlueHighwayTexture stuff. Any ideas?

Can you give a little information about your setup -- windows version, 32/64 bit etc... Not really sure what might be happening here..

Sorry about that, I'm running XP 32 bit. But yeah it's got me stumped pretty hard. Before I got the error, I was getting the "cannot find d3dx9_42.dll" but that was easily fixed by putting said dll into the system 32 folder. After I did that, this error started happening.

Try installing DirectX 9 properly from here instead of using a DLL downloaded from somewhere else.
