Can I use Python-Ogre 1.7RC1 for commercial purposes? If yes, then there are any restrictions?

Yes, it's under the GPL so no restrictions that I know of.. And if you have licensing issues of any sort then I'm happy to issue it under a different license etc..

Basically feel free to use it and if you make money then all I can ask is that you reference Python-Ogre in some fashion :)

Thanks
Andy

There is some confusion regarding the license, the sourceforge page indicates GPL but the license.gpl supplied with python-ogre indicates LGPL. What exactly does the license cover the generator code and/or the C++ code generated?

Also if the _*_ python-ogre modules are licensed under the GPL who would be use python-ogre commercially with all the restrictions that the GPL imposes. I understand it would be probably be a bit of work switching from GPL and some modules are GPL but what was the reasoning behind this in the first place?

Ogre 1.7 is under MIT licence itself, may be some extensions are not and it is reasonable the use of a LGPL for the python ogre binding... but is it GPL (and so it virally get all the programs written with it) :? or LGPL 8) ?
To be more clear, if under GPL no commercial use is possible, if under LGPL o r Mit or BSD yes.
I think it would be a good practice for companies making money with programs which include mit or bsd licensed libs, to give a small part of their income to support the libs their programs rely on... but this is just my two cents...
