Suggestions for prototype - terrain, buildings, no physics?

A quick question - I want to prototype something in Python-Ogre that needs a terrain, probably Caelum and buildings on the terrain. I need one fixed camera that will be placed inside a building and the mouse can only be used to rotate the camera. I've played with the pcz scenemanager and it looks good. I need reasonably large terrains, though I don't need too many objects placed on the terrain nor do I need high polygon counts. But I do need a large view distance. I don't need physics, at least nothing beyond basic rays.

Any options for other alternatives? What are you guys all using?
